About the estate

Bregentved is a large agricultural and forestry business, based in Central Sealand in Denmark, near the town of Haslev. The estate is owned by the Moltke family and has been in the family's possession since 1746. The current owners are Count Christian Moltke and Count Frederik Moltke.

Bregentved has one of the largest agriculturel areas in Denmark and the estate covers 6.519 hectares, of which 3.465 hectares consist of agricultural land and 3.054 of forest. 

Focus on climate-friendly operations
Bregentved is a member of Concito, a green think-tank. Both agricultural and forestry land use is driven with a focus on sustainability and climate-friendly production of food and energy, and in this context, Bregentved takes part in, amongst other things, various research initiatives focusing on the recycling of nutrients and minimal emission of greenhouse gases and has made use of energy-efficient and resource-saving methods for years. The forest district is also PEFC certified.
