Bregentved Estate is a large agricultural and forestry business, based in Mid-Sealand near the town of Haslev.
The estate is owned by the Moltke family, and has been in the family’s possession since 1746. The current owner is Count Christian Moltke.
The estate covers 6,338 hectares, of which 3,284 hectares consist of agricultural land and 3,054 hectares consist of forest. 163 houses also belong to the estate. The estate has a staff of 40 people and a yearly turnover of approximately DKK 60 million. The revenues derive from agriculture (without stock), forestry, house rental, hiring-out of hunting areas, hiring-out of storage facilities and machine pool services.
Bregentved House and park
The main building is the residence of the Moltke family and consists of three wings. The north wing was built in approximately 1650 and is a listed building. The east and south wings were built in 1890, and are likewise listed. There is no public access to the main building.
The park was laid out in the 1750s, and is open to the general public on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9.00 am until sunset, though not later than 6.00 pm. Visitors must remain on the paths. Admission is free of charge.
